ABOUT ME
As a child I was always interested in art but I had my unique vision and talent which was not appreciated nor nurtured by others. You could say that I was like the little prince, haha. So I stopped, because I was forced to draw what I was seeing and draw the way the grownups wanted. And I became so self conscious about my work that even if I did anything I would not dare show it to anyone.
So fast forward to when I was in my early 40s and I was going through a life changing time. I suddenly just started to take out |
paper, canvas, pastel, acrylic and started to paint what was coming from inside. And each artwork was coming with a message. Mostly at that time inspired by Rumi. A dear friend encouraged me to start putting my artwork out there to sell and show others. Which was a very huge step for me, but it also led me to start using Photoshop. And wow, my world just suddenly opened up. I felt I had so much more flexibility and what I wanted to show it self, was able to come out more clearly.
You see when I start an artwork I really don't know what the end result is going to be. I don't see the artwork before hand. As I start to play with the |
images I take from nature, layer, manipulate and add to them, suddenly the final result comes to me. And during the transformation process the message of the artwork becomes more clear. Sometimes they are Rumi, Mooi, or Osho quotes and sometimes they become my poems and quotes.
I want everyone specially kids to know art is whatever you create that brings you joy and love. Art can be in many forms. No one needs to teach you Art and no one needs to brand your work as Art in order for it to be Art. So go out and create, in color, music, in movement, in cooking, in speaking, in as many shapes and forms as your imagination allows; enjoy and love your creation even if you are the only one enjoying it. |
The magic is in realizing you are beyond this experience. |
